Kitchen Assistant/Dishwasher Part-time

Job Overview
Rollins Child Development Center is seeking a reliable and hardworking Part-time Kitchen Assistant/Dishwasher to support our food service operations. Ensuring a clean and sanitary kitchen is essential to providing healthy meals for young children. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, washing and sanitizing dishes and equipment, and assisting with meal delivery and cleanup.

With a commitment to a from-scratch kitchen and a focus on farm-to-classroom meals whenever possible, we strive to provide the highest quality food for our students.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.

· Deliver meals to classrooms and pick up food after mealtimes.

· Interact positively with young children and staff, fostering a welcoming environment.

· Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a clean and sanitary workspace.

· Maintain awareness of children with allergies and food restrictions, ensuring safe meal handling.

· Assist with inventory management as needed.

· Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and safe, including proper equipment maintenance.

· Work independently while also collaborating effectively with other staff members.

· Recognize and appreciate the role of food preparation in enhancing students' overall well-being.

Required Skills and Experience:

· High School Diploma or GED required.

· Must meet all local childcare and food service regulatory requirements.

· Ability to positively engage and interact with young children.

· Must pass a background check and drug screening.

· Ability to regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally push/pull up to 75 pounds.

· Flexibility to work occasional Saturdays as needed.

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

· Associate’s degree or higher in a related field.

· At least three years of experience working in a commercial kitchen.

· CPR and First Aid certification.

· Current ServSafe certification.

· Experience working in a childcare or school environment.

Pay: From $14.00 per hour
