Key Accountabilities:
- Manage the continuous improvement and development of quality methods and processes (audits, FMEA, PDCA, gage inspection, CMM, A3, 8D etc.).
- Approves all quality control and reaction plans for machining, production and REMAN areas
- Manages various Quality related databases for OEM and internal quality concerns
- Promote continuous improvement activities throughout the organization to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
- Assign, direct, and evaluate work of the Quality team.
- Develop and maintain staff competence.
- Direct the resolution of assembly and component problems in coordination with Development / Production /Purchasing.
- Oversee problem analysis, resolution, and prevention.
- Ensure compliance with corporate and legal regulations (e. g. through random checks, verifications).
- Ensure Production engines meet emission requirements where applicable.
- Manage the regulatory compliance program and ensure alignment with Rolls-Royce Power Systems regulatory group.
- Ensure proper documentation and storage of regulatory matters.
- Analyze warranty data on a regular basis for determination of priorities.
- Collect and report background data to support decisions/ recommendations.
- Support the development of success criteria for field tests.
- Oversee necessary inspections in a timely manner.
- Manage investigation process for line call incidents.
- Keeps management abreast of progress, developments, pending problems with KPI’s and standardized presentations
- Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct.
- Perform special projects as required
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Quality or Metallurgy Engineering and 5 years of experience in quality engineering; or 9 years of experience in quality engineering
- In order to be considered for this opportunity you must be a US Citizen
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface effectively at all levels of the organization
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of geometric tolerating and related gauges
- Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Strong ability to work and make decisions independently
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven leadership skills
- Strong experience with engines and engine-related components, and foundry processes
- Strong knowledge of statistical process control
- Strong ability to work in cross-functional team environment
- Strong ability to influence and motivate others to take actions in implementing supplier quality initiatives
- Must be willing to travel to supplier and customer sites as required
- Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
- Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Certified quality engineer
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certified
- Lead Auditor certification
- Knowledge of MTU products, policies, and procedures
