Materials Engineer

As a Materials Engineer you would provide knowledge and expertise and execute tasks on the development of materials, processes, models and analysis methods, the application of materials to the design, test, manufacture, and service operation of systems, the approval, validation and control of raw materials and / or component manufacturing processes, and the execution of failure or defect investigations. To provide knowledge, expertise and guidance in chemistry and/or corrosion disciplines deployed in the support of the full product life-cycle.

Key Accountabilities
- Effectively engage with engineers from all disciplines to understand material development requirements
- Manage test programs to demonstrate and validate a wide variety of material properties
- Applies knowledge and understanding of relevant technical principles and appropriate techniques to the definition, selection, specification and control of primary / raw material production and / or secondary / semi-finish product manufacture
- Analyze and interpret data from material property testing
- Produce design guidance to describe materials performance under a range of complex loading conditions and in different operating environments, based on results from both testing programs and literature
- Understand company business objectives and ensure that the work they do supports this; To act in accordance with both the company values and those associated with being a professional engineer.
- Bachelor's in Materials or Chemistry; OR
- Master's or PhD in Materials or Chemistry
- Must be a US Citizen and be eligible to obtain DoD clearance
- Ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking to a range of technical problems
- Practical knowledge and use of advanced analytical techniques
- Ability to apply knowledge of material / component analysis and condition assessment techniques.
- Ability to apply knowledge of materials specifications and data generation processes.
