Material Handler Responsibilities:
Material handler is responsible for managing, moving, storing, and organizing goods within the yard and manufacturing shop. Highly involved in Quality control; Quality & inventory checks, including waste management.
Material handler will play an important role in how we ensure products reach their next destination and an important component of our operations.
Material Handler is also responsible for handling and moving merchandise around the premises. Their duties also include managing the shipping and receiving of materials within facility. Maintain inventory records, ensuring accurate tracking of goods and materials. Critical documentation of orders and transactions for organization of shop/yard.

Material Handler Responsibilities:

Duties include but is not limited to;
- Palletize and stage material for installers and production.
- Perform quality control on items: Control Quality to ensure fulfilled customer purchases and orders are ready for install.
- Unpack and inspect incoming shipments or material from delivery truck for damage or discrepancies. Compare/ Verify packing lists and purchase orders to ensure accurate deliveries. Identify and report any issues with shipments (e.g., damage, missing items).
- Receive and stock inventory: Sort and place material in designated storage location or production areas.
- Physical Stamina: Material handling often involves physically demanding tasks.
- Communication: Effective communication with colleagues and supervisors is important.
- Problem-solving: Material handlers may need to address issues that arise during the movement and storage of goods.
- Time Management: Efficiently completing tasks and meeting deadlines is essential.
- Data Entry Skills: Required to enter inventory information into a system.
- Knowledge of Inventory Control: Understanding inventory control principles is important for accurate record-keeping.
- Previous experience with receiving process a major plus. Material handlers must have adequate physical strength and stamina to maneuver products around the floor. Beginner-level position, may require a GED/high school diploma.
- Use tools like pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment. More experienced material handlers that operate powered industrial trucks (PIT equipment) will need specific certification and training. Operate relevant heavy equipment like forklifts.
