What are the responsibilities and job description for the Control & Instrument Tech position at Romac Industries, Inc.?
As our Control and Instrument Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of a variety of electrical equipment, such as control panels, switchboards, junction boxes, switches, and more. You must be able to diagnose electrical trouble and work from wiring diagrams to plan and perform installations and maintenance. You must also possess strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record in delivering high-quality work.
Hours: Mon – Fri 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
What you’ll do:
- Lay out, install, and maintain a wide variety of electrical equipment, including motors, motor generator sets, transformers, alarm and communication systems, machine and process controls, electrical apparatuses & instrumentation.
- Read and understand PLC programs with ladder logic to control various types of machinery and systems.
- Work with cross functional teams to develop innovative solutions for industrial automation challenges.
- Conduct regular inspections & maintenance activities on various systems and automation to ensure they’re operating efficiently and effectively.
- Meet all company work schedule and attendance expectations and perform within the physical and environmental demands of the job, as described in Section E: Working Conditions.
- Be familiar with NEC and UL508.
What you’ll bring:
- Two years of technical school or equivalent job/military experience.
- Understanding of common computer programs such as MS Suite.
- Reading and understanding documents, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to express complex concepts and ideas.
- Able to efficiently perform research in all areas of scope.
Compensation: $30.48- $45.72 per hour
