What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Health & Safety Technician I position at Romac Industries, Inc.?
As our Manufacturing Health & Safety Technician I, you'll play a key role in ensuring a safe and compliant workplace under the guidance of the Environmental Health and Safety Manager. You'll be responsible for inspecting work areas and equipment to ensure they meet company, state, and federal safety standards. Your keen eye for detail will help you identify deficiencies, document inspections, and recommend corrective actions to keep operations running safely and efficiently.
In this role, you'll take charge of managing safety equipment supplies and leveraging your expertise in environmental health and safety practices. Your proficiency in training software will allow you to schedule and lead safety training sessions across Romac, equipping employees with the knowledge they need to work safely. Additionally, you'll be a key responder in handling industrial accidents, ensuring swift and effective action while promoting a strong culture of workplace safety.
Hours: Mon – Fri 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Responsibilities
- Use Romac’s designated training programs to schedule, conduct and track safety training.
- Plan, organize, schedule, and conduct inspections of facilities, work areas, and equipment.
- Monitor site conditions, practices, and procedures for compliance with health and safety requirements. Select and implement corrective action and follow-up to ensure proper action has been taken.
- Serve as a source of information on health and safety issues. Assist with the development and administration of programs, reports, training, and employee seminars.
- Handles incidents where an employee may have been injured or has been injured, including helping the employee and processing all paperwork.
Qualifications:
- Two-year degree in safety, health, and/or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- 2 years of experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of City, State, and Federal Occupational regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Strong communication, organization, and computer skills
- Comfortable speaking in front of large groups
Compensation: $27.02-$39.18 per hour
