St. Paul's Catholic Church in Damascus Maryland is hiring a Maintenance Technician/Custodian for a part-time role.
This is a 16 hour per week position and will report to the Pastor.
The Maintenance Technician/Custodian will be responsible for maintenance and upkeep of buildings and grounds and will report to the Pastor.

St. Paul's Catholic Church in Damascus Maryland is hiring a Maintenance Technician/Custodian for a part-time role.
This is a 16 hour per week position and will report to the Pastor.
The Maintenance Technician/Custodian will be responsible for maintenance and upkeep of buildings and grounds and will report to the Pastor.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Basic maintenance and repair work for parish buildings, which include the main church and a chapel building. The other buildings include the rectory, parish center, and storage areas
- Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and mechanical equipment such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc.
- Maintain supplies and relevant equipment for maintenance
- Perform facility set-up and take-down, hauling and moving of equipment
- Perform cleaning of facilities as needed
- Trash removal from the parish buildings and grounds as needed
- Effectively communicate with Pastor and staff on any maintenance issues as directed
- Occasional early morning, evening, and weekend hours, as needed
- Attend occasional staff meetings and other meetings, as needed
- Effective team player with strong interpersonal and mechanical skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain correspondence with email and phone calls related to HVAC mechanical company and service vendors
- Capable of efficiently diagnosing facilities problems and gathering companies’ bids for repairs and work
- Capable of organizing and maintaining files related to facilities and service agreements
- Review annual or semi-annual inspection requirements and plan to be in compliance
- Ability to lift 30 – 40 pounds consistently
- Committed to following Archdiocesan policies, procedures, standards and legal requirements
- Must be self-motivated and responsible, ability to work with minimal supervision
- Minimum 1-2 years prior professional experience in building and grounds maintenance work
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent
- Electronic background check. Will need to be trained and in compliance with Archdiocesan Child Protection Policy
