This role will report to the Pastor and is a non-exempt, full time role (30 hours per week)
The pay rate for this position is $18-$24 per hour

Description
The Parish Secretary reports to the Parish Pastor in support of the parish’s front office. Provides administrative support to parish clergy and staff, and communicates with parishioners and ministry leaders.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs parish clerical and administration duties including opening & closing the office, answering phones and communicating messages, receiving and distributing mail, maintaining the parish calendar and updating the Mass intentions calendar, overseeing parish registration records and sacramental record keeping
- Supervises volunteer receptionists
- Assists Pastor in facilitating communication among ministry leaders and parish staff
- Assists Pastor with parish correspondence as needed, including scheduling staff meetings, periodic mass mailings, both hard copy and electronic, thank you letters to parishioners for donations, and yearly contribution statements
- Maintains ParishSOFT offering envelope system, registering new parishioners, updating address changes, and submitting reports; may assist with remote deposit of checks
- Prepares announcements for the weekend masses, and ensures monthly ministry schedules are posted at the church
- Assists in coordinating funerals, baptisms and weddings
- Maintains office supplies and liturgical supplies inventory
- Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing, with a love for the Catholic faith, and a desire to contribute to parish life
- Must exhibit a pleasant demeanor, and maintain proper decorum in communicating with parishioners and fellow staff
- Must be a team player with a willingness to collaborate and assist where needed
- Strong computer skills, and ability to use Flocknotes for communication
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel
- Spanish proficiency needed
