The teacher will:
- demonstrate proficiency in all key areas of the curriculum, including:
- Linear equations and inequalities
- Systems of linear equations and inequalities
- Polynomial equations and factoring polynomial equations
- Radical expressions and equations
- Quadratic functions and equations
- Exponents and laws of exponents
- Rational expressions and equations
- Data analysis and probability
- demonstrate effective classroom and behavior management techniques appropriate to the needs of all middle school students.
- use strategies to create a learning community in which students assume responsibility for themselves and one another, participate in decision-making, work collaboratively and independently, and engage in purposeful learning activities.
- use technology to enhance learning and achieve instructional objectives, as well as gather, organize and interpret assessment data of middle school math students.
- use classroom observation, information about students, pedagogical knowledge, and research as sources for active reflection, evaluation, and revision of teaching practices.
- ensure effective and timely communication with parents, faculty, and administration.
- work with colleagues to develop a culture and climate for effective learning.
