Summary:
The Day Porter is charged with the execution of maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of our facilities throughout the day. The ideal candidate will take pride in keeping the premises neat, safe, and welcoming for employees, visitors, students, and parishioners.
Essential Functions:

- Coordinates and oversees daily cleaning, stocking, supplying of all paper products.
- Setup chairs and tables for various setups in hall / cafeteria, and throughout the school or preschool when extra tables or chairs are needed for events.
- Interfaces with building staff on cleaning and supply of restrooms and manages St. Vincent’s Recycle Program (IT Equipment, Paper and other items for reuse and Shred operations)
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing high-touch surfaces.
- Monitor and restock restroom supplies, clean restrooms, and ensure overall hygiene.
- Remove trash and replace liners in common areas, breakrooms, office spaces, and cafeteria / hall.
- Clean and maintain entrances, front offices, hallways, and other high traffic areas.
- Respond to cleaning or maintenance requests as needed.
- Assist with light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs or minor repairs as directed by the facility manager.
- Help and assist with office or classroom moves
- Monitor public/common facility areas to consistently meet cleanliness and safety standards per code and executive management desires.
- Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created
- Assist in the movement of furniture, equipment and supplies
- Manage and responds to all open help desk tickets to ensure the timely completion of all requested tasks – works directly with Facility Manager on prioritization of work.
- Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning duties with Facility Manager
- Execute, monitor and assist in the setup, arrangement, decorations, tables, chairs, to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings
- Work with the Facility Manager to ensure that employee vending options (water, coffee, etc.) and vending stations are available.
- Ensure meeting rooms and common public areas remain orderly during regular business hours and before, during and after conferences, training, and other sessions
- Executes all of the above through effective management of time, projects, priorities and resources combined with individual contributions and input
- Daily rounds inside and outside of buildings to ensure all trash is picked up, and everything is clean and orderly. Report any facility issues, safety concerns, or needed repairs to Facility Manager.
- Ensure outdoor areas, such as walkways and entryways, are free from debri
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting employees and visitors as needed.
- Other Items as designated by Facilities Manager.
- Day Porter and Cleaning experience. Familiarity with OSHA laws, guidelines, and proper cleaning supplies around children at school.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to perform moderate to heavy manual labor including frequent bending, walking and lifting up to 50 pounds. The employee is required to be mobile to, from, and within the office, as well as maneuver throughout the parish and school facility to attend meetings, briefings, and other work-related events. The employee may be required to conduct trips to, from, and within various city and county-wide locations to attend meetings or events.
