4. Collaborate with the Catholic Foundation development team to integrate planned giving initiatives into overall fundraising efforts.
5. Manage a portfolio of planned giving prospects and donors, ensuring timely and appropriate stewardship.
6. Organize and facilitate planned giving seminars, workshops, and other events to educate donors and advisors about planned giving opportunities.
7. Maintain accurate records of planned giving activity and prepare regular scouting reports for the Chief Executive Officer and the board of trustees.
8. Stay informed about changes in tax laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to planned giving.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree or certification in planned giving, fundraising, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising, planned giving, estate planning, or a related field, with a proven track record of success in securing planned gifts.
  • Must be an active practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and inspire donors and stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of tax laws, estate planning techniques, and financial planning principles related to charitable giving.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in donor management databases and software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of The Catholic Foundation of Maine.
Physical Requirements:
  • The ability to travel throughout the State of Maine as needed to meet with potential donors.
  • The ability to keystroke 1-2 hours per day with reasonable breaks.
  • The ability to communicate verbally and in writing with prospective planned giving clients.
