We are seeking a highly skilled and talented backend and platform focused engineer with prior experience in data platform, real-time data process. In this role, you will be a critical member of the US product’s platform team to lead Xero’s efforts to build our data processing engine enabling our external platform partners to embed accounting experience into their applications.What You'll Do : You’ll work in collaboration with other Xeros to help create and deliver beautiful software to customers, faster.You’ll model the standard for engineering excellence at Xero, supporting your team to grow their technical capability and improve development practices.You’ll undertake software system development in our suite of products, contributing to new or improved platforms for our customers and partners.You will lead the technical design and implementation with architecture principles and good engineering practice.Work with engineering leadership and delivery teams to deliver technical capabilities.You will lead and drive streaming data flow, data processing and content recommendation.Contribute to and champion Xero’s quality strategy and standards, promoting strong collaboration within a cross-functional team.You will be a strong contributor to the product planning and delivery.What You'll Bring With You : 5 years experience in platform development at scale.5 years of programming experience with advanced programming languages, such as C , C#, Go, Java or similar frameworks.2 years in data processing and real-time streaming data engine.Experience in data storage, database queries, and Python is a plus.Hands-On experience and understanding of machine learning is highly desirable.Ability to drive system design and product experience with product management.Education in computer science or equivalent fields.Experience in leading discussions and implementation for scaling products.Salary : $215,000 - $230,000 a yearWhy Xero?Diversity of people brings diversity of thought, and we like that.
