Job Summary: Land Acquisition Manager

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None currently

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Actively search for land available to purchase.
  • Develop and maintain market research and knowledge related to land acquisition and disposition to identify possible acquisitions and support land valuations and strategic initiatives within the Company.
  • Processing inquiries from the public relating to real property.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships and business contacts that can provide information on possible acquisitions.
  • Use negotiation and conflict resolution skills to come to agreed upon pricing and terms with landowners, banks, attorneys or brokers in the course of acquiring a property.
  • Research land records for information regarding property ownership and title history.
  • Review easements, environmental records, permits, or other documents for potential issues with the project.
  • Physically inspect land prior to acquisition for any existing conditions that would be material to the projects development or have cost implications.
  • Manage preparation of initial project report and package for presentation to executives
  • Participate in the preparation of the final Business Plan for the project.
  • Keeps accurate and thorough records for each property assessed.
  • Act ethically and with integrity and professionalism in such a way as to serve our investors and create goodwill and profit for the company.

  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines in a high-pressure environment

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel overnight.
  • Proven ability to create and lead strong presentations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel in particular, or related software.
  • Ability to quickly learn new software systems.
  • Ability and discipline to work in a number of environments including in office, in the field, and while traveling.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field from four-year college or university preferred.
  • Three years minimum experience in land acquisitions, analytics, or similar.
  • Land Development or Entitlement experience preferred.
  • Knowledge in Market Analysis preferred.

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to drive a vehicle, possess a current and valid driver's license, proof of insurance and a clean driving record.
  • Must have the ability to speak, hear, and see to observe and detect emergency situations.
  • Must be able to walk properties under consideration, construction or as finished projects unassisted.


Compensation Range:

  • $110K to $140K per year bonusing
