IT Security Analyst Intern

We are currently recruiting for the position of IT Security Analyst Intern. This internship will be a seasonal position with a duration of approximately 8 weeks located in our Westfield, NJ office.

Responsibilities

• Incident Response: Support the IT security team in responding to and investigating security incidents, analyzing logs, and performing root cause analysis.
• Security Audits: Participate in regular security audits and assessments, ensuring compliance with company security policies and industry regulations.
• Security Monitoring: Help monitor network and system traffic for unusual activity using various security tools and dashboards.
• Testing Support: Assist in performing security assessments to identify potential improvements in the company’s systems.
• Tool Evaluation: Assist in evaluating and implementing new security tools and technologies to enhance the company's security posture.
• Research and Analysis: Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and best practices, and assist in implementing new approaches to enhance security.

Qualifications Required

• Location: Must be able to report in-person to Westfield, NJ office 5 days / week
• Education: Rising Senior pursing a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with security protocols, firewalls, encryption, network security, and cybersecurity tools. Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and networking concepts is a plus.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, ensuring accurate analysis and documentation of security-related activities.
