We are currently recruiting for the position of Supply Chain Manager.
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing operations across multiple locations, serving as the primary point of contact between customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure operational goals are met. The role includes identifying opportunities for process improvements, maintaining a safe and compliant work environment, and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor cost control, productivity, and service quality. They also manage operational risks, plan for peak seasons, and collaborate on special projects while leading the team by providing direction, training, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
The Supply Chain Manager reports to the Director of Packaging and Distribution and/or the head of the unit and/or department.
The tasks and responsibilities required of a Supply Chain Manager are outlined below:
- Direct management of a multi-location operation, including transportation, warehousing, labor planning, inventory management, quality assurance, budgeting, facilities, and customer service.
- Liaison between customers, suppliers, and operations for the execution of operational goals and initiatives.
- Develops improvement strategies by analyzing process workflow, resources, and customer requirements.
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing defined standards, practices, and procedures that comply with pertinent governmental and legal regulations and laws.
- Maintains knowledge of current industry standards, technology, and customer requirements within the area of supply chain services.
- Develops and manages operational KPI’s to ensure the achievement of operational, cost per unit, productivity, accuracy, and service level objectives.
- Provides mandated and appropriate operational safeguards against product and intellectual property loss through security technologies, cycle count process, prevention/awareness, and management visibility.
- Manages an environment that thrives on expectations and accountability for performance results.
- Generates reports for clients to provide insight into supply chain performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Identify and mitigate risks in logistics operations, such delays, disruptions, or accidents.
- Demonstrates a high-level of collaboration and communication between the management team and business partners to ensure operational alignment.
- Ability to manage peak season where volumes require shift expansion, realignment of labor resources and the management of a significant temporary workforce.
- Collaborates with customers on special initiatives and projects, changes in schedules and/or changes to meet the needs of a dynamic market.
- Effectively leads, and develops the workforce, including work performance management, coaching, training, and team motivation.
- Fosters a culture of continuous improvement and client focus within the team. · Ensure that staffing levels are appropriate to meet needs and operational demands.
- Responsible for performing all duties as required and assigned.
The skill and qualifications required for a Supply Chain Manager are outlined below:
- At least 10 years of progressive distributor & supply chain experience for a high-volume customer.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred; or an equivalent amount of education, training, and work experience.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and best practices.
- Proven leadership in key areas such as: supply chain/logistics, analytics solutions, & forecasting, and supporting a complex cross-functional team.
- Proven relationship-building ability.
- Excellent organization, follow-up, and judgment skills.
- Solid analytical skills and project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills: ability to share information clearly and concisely both verbally and written.
- Advanced PC skills required: MS Office Suite: Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio.
- Strong skillset and experience working with a variety of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Strong executive presence and communication skills.
- Experience interacting with senior leadership is required.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Periodic travel is required for this role.
