The Quality Nurse Informatics Specialist is key role in supporting nurse-sensitive quality indicators (NSQIs) and the organization's journey to professional excellence by leveraging data, technology, and evidence-based practices to enhance nursing quality outcomes. This role collaborates with nursing leadership, the quality department, and IT to optimize electronic health record (EHR) systems, data analytics, and clinical workflows to improve patient care and nursing practice. This nurse also works directly with the Magnet Program Director to track applicable data.

- Utilizes data collection, analysis, and reporting of nurse-sensitive quality indicators
- Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing quality improvement projects to drive performance improvement and meet accreditation standards.
- Support the preparation and submission of Magnet documentation and reports by providing accurate and timely data on nursing outcomes
- Conduct data validation, integrity checks, and audits to ensure the accuracy and reliability of nursing quality data.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track nursing performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide training and education to nurses and frontline staff on documentation best practices, EHR optimization, and data-driven decision-making.
- Assist in the development of policies, procedures, and best practices related to nursing informatics and quality improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) and active NYS RN License
- Preferred Master's degree in Nursing Informatics, Healthcare Quality, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience, with a strong background in nursing quality, informatics, or performance improvement.
- Certification in Nursing Informatics (RN-BC), Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), or related certifications.
