The Director of Risk and Compliance will oversee the development of the risk management program and will serve as a role model, creating positive relationships with staff in an environment of mutual respect and trust. They will manage adverse events, (patient & staff) injury, including the identification and management of those with professional liability exposures, and will interface with all staff members throughout the organization. They will promote excellence through maintaining a focus on strategic and organization planning, use of quality processes and goals, and decision making based on data analysis. Position Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring a comprehensive risk management program is in place to protect the hospital from financial loss.
Monitoring processes to evaluate the quality of services provided by responsible departments to ensure optimal clinical quality levels, while conforming to hospital Safety/Risk Standards
Establish and Monitor an event reporting system that provides a uniform method of identifying and correcting systems problems that have the potential to affect the safety of patients, residents, visitors, students, volunteers, and employees.
Collects data on "near miss" events and provides quarterly feedback to leadership that summarizes issues and identifies opportunities for quality improvement.
Partner with performance improvement on quality improvement processes for the hospital.
Provide proactive leadership in the development, support, and achievement of the hospitals strategic goals and compliance work plans.
Develops, and administers compliance program to be followed by employee and contractors, including physicians contractors; oversee and monitor the updating of guidelines as necessary.
Education, Training, Experience, Certification, and Licensure
Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred or risk management certification preferred
5-7 years of related Risk Management and Compliance experience in a health care setting required.
CPHRM (Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management) preferred
