General
The Senior Accountant shall be responsible for overseeing financial accounting and budgeting transactions. It will also be responsible for all aspects of financial reporting, including costs, margins, productivity, and expenses. This role is expected to monitor and enforce compliance with the company’s overall accounting policies and procedures. It will serve as a key contact within the finance organization for executive management, subsidiary management, and key functional leaders. It will have a key role in cashflow management, bank reporting and revenue processes. It will support the VP of Finance in setting the tone for robust internal control development and implementation. Experience in working in a closely held business is a plus.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Financial
- Actively participate in the monthly closing, ensuring that revenue is recorded according to company policy, intercompany accounts are reconciled, and that consolidation and elimination entries are properly recorded.
- Coordinate the monthly reporting package for the consolidated group and subsidiaries, ensuring that reports are accurate and contain the requested key data needed to assist senior management in driving successful results.
- Oversee the companies’ revenue function by tracking all active contracts and ensuring that company commitments are met and that all billable costs are tracked and recorded.
- Oversee the timely collection of accounts receivable.
- Collect the necessary data to support annual tax return preparation.
- Maintain sales and margin reporting, including a monthly forecast.
- Maintain a strong process over internal credit card use. Maintain the T&E policy and ensure that all billable expenses are charged to clients as outlined in the event contracts.
- Develop a strong process to ensure that all business licenses, taxation reports contract compliance requirements are met in a timely manner.
- Provide strong, forward looking analytical reports as needed.
- Coordinate data to support the annual budgeting process.
Payroll
- Execute payrolls for all companies, ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and timely and that all withholdings are duly authorized.
- Assist in annual payroll planning.
Administration
- Drive Procurement savings for common purchases (operational and administrative).
- Maintain on-line and paper records to ensure compliance with government laws and regulations.
Key Qualifications/Skills
- Accounting degree preferred
- At least 2 years of relevant experience, ideally in a family-owned business environment
- Skills in QuickBooks Online—ability to navigate multiple companies and post transactions accurately in support of client profitability structure
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work well when under tight deadlines and plan personal workload effectively—especially important during the Company’s “busy season” when concert payments and billings must be transacted on the day of the event
- Sound Excel and Microsoft Office product skills
- Microsoft Bi experience a plus
Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
