Building Estimator

Roseburg manufacturer of Park & Recreation Buildings is seeking a full-time Building Estimator to join our engineering department.

Position Summary:

Position includes assisting in the review of building plans to generate a list of materials needed to construct park and rec buildings. This includes requesting and receiving quotes from material suppliers so that the materials can then be purchased, packaged, and delivered to the job site for eventual construction of the building.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Review building plans in PDF and in CAD that were created by the Design Engineers. Data entry of part numbers and quantities into excel spreadsheets for all the parts it takes to construct the building. This includes inputting the details for the part needed and the quantity needed (Ex. Quantity 48, 8’ 2x4s Doug Fir).

Work with Design Engineers to make sure that all materials shown in the design are added to the bill of materials needed for construction and work with outside vendors to ensure that all materials called for in the design are available and can be purchased. Work with Production to answer questions about building materials as they are being received and packaged prior to shipment to the job site.

95% of time is spent at computer in office setting. 5% is spent in the production yard looking at materials to ensure they will work for the project.

Education Requirements:
Minimum of a 4-year degree in Business or the Engineering field

Experience Requirements:

General proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required along with attention to detail for data input and calculations.

Skills and Abilities:

This position requires verbal & written communication skills. Applicants must have strong math skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Ability to write quick emails. Willingness to take phone calls from outside vendors. Attention to detail when it comes to numbers and data entry.

Software or Equipment Knowledge:
Microsoft office suite is necessary. CAD experience is a bonus but not required.

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
