Would you like to join a thriving and growing business located just outside Glide, Oregon? Romtec Utilities, Inc. is looking for a qualified Electrical Design Engineer. We are seeking an individual that is capable and willing to learn all things regarding Pumping Systems. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented individual with Electrical Engineering Skills. This position is responsible for the design of electrical controls systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Demonstrates commitment to and leadership for environmental, health, and safety principles and directives with his/her personal safety, and the safety of others.
- Meets or exceeds the highest standards of quality and environmental responsibility in all decisions and actions.
- Assists in creating and maintaining technical documents.
- Prepares and plans for systems start-up work ensuring that all information, drawings, parts, and tools are available for efficient execution of the job.
- Communicates with the Project Managers regarding scheduled start-ups, delays, changes, or additional services required.
- Provides PLC and HMI programming and troubleshooting services.
- Assures accurate documentation of all programming and start up devices.
- Performs inspection, calibration, and routine adjustments of electrical system including programmable controllers, variable frequency drives and other associated equipment.
- Troubleshoots and repairs systems to ensure maximum operation.
- Makes changes to system designs to improve performance, reduce cost, improve quality and assure safe and reliable operation.
- Prepares current and accurate prints and schematic diagrams of systems and updates existing diagrams to conform to modifications being made or previously completed.
- Operates and maintains electrical and electronic test equipment.
- Communicates directly with customers and contractors to ensure the proper installation of Romtec Utilities supplied equipment.
- Works within the Engineering Department to provide specification reviews, system designs, and budgetary pricing.
- Coordinates control system design and production with outside vendors.
- Assist the Production Department with system design and implementation.
- Performs other duties, projects and assignments as requested by the Engineering Manager.
- Continually works on upgrading skills, keeping current on methods and technology to maximize current and future systems.
It is critical that the candidate possess the following:
· A minimum of two years post-secondary technical education, or a minimum of five years relevant experience.
· Good computer skills required with Word, Excell and AutoCAD or equivalent.
· Strong electrical aptitude with a basic understanding of the National Electrical Code.
· Basic mechanical skills with an understanding of pumps and pumping systems.
Other Qualifications:
- Automation/control systems experience
- Education in Electrical/Electronics
- Electrical system design or installation
- Field Service experience
- History of integrated systems operations
- General engineering background
- Experience in an industrial type of environment
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code
