Required Experience
- 5 years of dealership acquisition experience. Includes:
- Experience with wholesale auction
- Managing and leveraging relationships with car dealers, manufacturers, wholesalers, and auctioneers.
- Negotiating deals to increase gross return.
- Extremely self-motivated
- Ability to set and achieve targeted goals.
- Demonstrated communication, prospecting, and interpersonal skills.
- Organization and follow-up skills.
- Experience and desire to work with technology.
- Building and maintaining relationships with auctions, manufacturers, and other dealership groups.
- Creating the daily strategy, leading a team to acquire the most profitable inventory available at quantity, 4,000 to 7,000 units annually.
- Provide insight on pricing, marketing, and stocking to the General Managers
- Vehicle Sourcing and Purchasing:
- Identify and source vehicles from various channels, including auctions, private sellers, and online platforms
- Evaluate and negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with sellers to ensure optimal profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and coordinate necessary repairs or modifications, if required, to meet dealership standards.
- Market Analysis and Pricing:
- Stay up to date with current market trends, industry news, and competitor activities in the Northeast Ohio market.
- Analyze market demand, pricing data, sales history, and customer preferences to determine the most competitive pricing and fast turn strategies for our inventory.
- Review pricing to ensure profitability while remaining competitive within the market.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Prepare and review all necessary paperwork, contracts, and documentation related to vehicle purchases, sales, and trade-ins.
- Coordinate with the finance and accounting departments to ensure accurate record-keeping and timely payment processing.
- Generate reports on sales, inventory turnover, and other key performance indicators to assess dealership performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Must obtain and maintain any certificates, licenses, and registrations as required by Dealership.
- Must maintain a valid Driver's License that meets dealership insurability requirements to regularly travel between stores.
- Must be able to sit at desk for extended periods without issue. At least 4 hours.
- Some light lifting (up to 15 pounds) may be required as needed.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive sales, purchasing, or dealership management. Extensive knowledge of vehicle brands, models, features, and market values.
- Proven track record of successful sales and purchasing in the automotive industry.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
- Paying attention to detail and the ability to conduct thorough vehicle inspections.
- Proficiency in using automotive industry tools and software for inventory management and pricing analysis.
