Business Title:
- Automotive EV Technician
Job Purpose:
- To diagnose, maintain, and repair electric vehicles (EVs) while ensuring customer satisfaction and adhering to safety and quality standards. This role requires a deep understanding of EV technology, including lithium-ion batteries, electric motors, and associated automotive systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance on electric vehicles, including tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid changes.
- Diagnose and repair complex electrical systems in EVs, including high-voltage battery packs, charging systems, and electric motors.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the interaction between lithium-ion batteries and other automotive systems.
- Conduct thorough inspections of EVs to identify potential problems and recommend necessary repairs or maintenance.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in EV technology and repair procedures.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Provide excellent customer service, explaining technical issues to customers in a clear and concise manner.
- Document all repairs and maintenance performed on EVs accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with other technicians and service advisors to ensure timely and efficient vehicle repairs.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- EV Certification from an ETA® approved EV school or Manufacturer Specific.
- A-Level ASE Certification
Required Experience:
- Experience working with high-voltage electrical systems (due to the nature of electric vehicles).
- Experience with diagnostic and repair procedures specific to electric vehicles.
- Experience performing routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
- Experience using diagnostic software and tools to troubleshoot and repair electric vehicle systems.
- Experience working with lithium-ion batteries and understanding their safety procedures.
- Experience interpreting and applying technical service bulletins and wiring diagrams related to electric vehicles.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of electric vehicle technology, including batteries, motors, controllers, and charging systems.
- Ability to diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems in electric vehicles.
- Ability to use specialized tools and equipment for electric vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic software and interpreting data.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve complex technical issues.

Salary : $40 - $50
