Located in Foster City, Ronald C. Wornick Jewish Day School is a pluralistic community day school for students from TK through 8th grade. We are a warm and welcoming community with a collaborative team focused on bettering our school, supporting our students and welcoming our families. Wornick Day School is seeking an elementary school teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. The teacher will serve as a lead teacher in our lower elementary school (TK-2nd) and will be responsible for teaching ELA, Social Studies, Math, and Science. We are seeking an experienced teacher who has knowledge of progressive educational environments.The elementary school teacher will : Provide an instructional program based on the needs of each studentImplement our school adopted programs as the base curriculum for the gradeDesign engaging curriculum that supports the base curriculum and meets the school’s guiding principles, including but not limited to Project Based Learning, design thinking, performance-based assessmentCreate and maintain positive relationships with students, families, and other teachersDifferentiate effectively for diverse learners in the classroomAssess students learning frequently and effectively to ensure grade level standards are being metCreate engaging lesson and unit plans under the supervision of the Assistant Head of School and other educational leaders at the schoolDocument student learning and report home frequently on student assessments and progressUtilize multi-modal methods of instruction and learning in recognition of the diverse ways students learnAssist the administration in creating a respectful school environment in support of the behavioral and cultural policies of the schoolProvide appropriate and engaging individualized work for students in support of plans created with parents, tutors, aides and specialistsCollaborate with grade level peers to support students, integrate learning across multiple subject areas and create a holistic grade level experienceRecognize parents as critical partners in student learning and utilize support services within the schoolUse technology appropriately to advance learning goalsAttend all staff meetings and fulfill other duties assigned by the Assistant Head of School (recess duties, club supervision etc)Receive and provide feedback in a professional manner with other school professionalsThe ideal candidate will : Have 5 years of classroom experience as a lead classroom teacherAt a minimum have a Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred)Have a California Teaching Credential (preferred)Be familiar with progressive educational approaches (Project Based Learning, student centered classroom, flipped classroom etc)Experience with Google Classroom, G Suite, and other LMS a plusHave experience in lesson planning and curriculum designPossess a love of learning and a passion for engaging studentsHave experience differentiation for diverse classroom learnersBe a collaborative team member who will seek advice from peers and rely on the professional expertise of our administrators and support servicesFirst aid / CPR a plusExperience with independent schools is a plus!Compensation and BenefitsSalary for this position is determined by years of experience and credentials. Our range for elementary school teachers is between $70,000 and $105,000Additional benefit stipend to assist with retirement contributions, dependent benefits or taken as taxable compensationComprehensive benefits including medical, dental and vision, life and AD&D, 403b retirement plan, and employee assistant programSignificant tuition remission for employee children enrolled at Wornick
