Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Geotechnical Engineer or Geologist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting and or overseeing geotechnical investigations, analyzing soil and rock properties, and providing engineering solutions for various construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of soil mechanic principles and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams to ensure the successful execution of geotechnical aspects in construction.
Responsibilities
- Conduct site investigations to assess soil and rock conditions for construction projects.
- Analyze data from soil samples and perform geotechnical calculations.
- Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings, recommendations, and design parameters.
- Collaborate with project engineers and architects to integrate geotechnical considerations into project designs.
- Oversee construction inspection activities to ensure compliance with geotechnical specifications.
- Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD and Slide fore design and modeling purposes.
- Assist in project management tasks, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Skills
- BS in Civil Engineering or Geology
- Ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) within 2 years prefeered
- 2 years of relevant experience as a geotechnical engineer or geologist
- Experience with AutoCAD for drafting and design tasks.
- Experience with Slide slope stability analysis.
- Knowledge of construction inspection protocols and standards.
- Experience performing UCS classification of soil samples, performing basic geotechnical laboratory testing, and classification of rock core samples.
