Job Title : Controller
Location : Boynton Beach
Job Summary
The Controller will be responsible for the accurate and timely financial management of the organization. They are responsible for accounting operations, production of periodic financial reports, and maintenance of accounting records.
Objectives of this role
Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior managers by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points
Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines
Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective actions
Help develop and support short- and long-term operational strategies
Responsibilities
Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures
Establish (in coordination with President) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis
Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while remaining knowledgeable of proposed legislation
Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows
Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity
Maintain insurance coverage for all companies, manage the renewal process Administer the 401k plan with weekly, monthly, and yearly duties
Governmental reporting on a quarterly and annual basis
Skills & Knowledge Required
Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume
Understanding of applicable laws and regulations
Knowledge of federal regulation on taxes and reporting
Knowledge of payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting
Accounting / Professional Designation, CPA (Certified Public Accountant or equivalent (MBA, etc.)
Minimum 10 years’ experience in accounting, with at least 5 years in manufacturing environment
Knowledge in QuickBooks a MUST
Knowledge of IQMS a plus
Demonstrate knowledge and skills, financial analysis, cost, general accounting and manufacturing accounting systems, standard cost accounting and budgeting
Knowledge of ERP Systems and Methodologies
Ability to travel when needed
Ability to strategize and solve problems
Must be flexible in a fast-paced and changing work environment
Good supervisory, strong communication and interpersonal skills
Computer literate with strong Excel skills basic Microsoft Word
