POSITION OVERVIEW

Join the RMHC West Michigan team as a Marketing Intern and immerse yourself in a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience across all areas of nonprofit marketing. You’ll assist with creating engaging content for social media, while supporting event marketing and public relations efforts. Help share the powerful stories of families through social media and media content and contribute to executing impactful marketing campaigns. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, detail-oriented individual looking to make a difference while building valuable skills in a dynamic nonprofit environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Social Media : Assist in creating graphics, captions, and short-form videos for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Threads, and support content scheduling and reporting through Metricool.
Event Marketing : Support the promotion and execution of RMHC West Michigan events as needed. Assist with social media content, emails, print materials, and day-of marketing.
Email Marketing : Assist with creating and sending out donor communications.
Family Content : Assist the organization in collecting family stories to use for social media or media content. This could also include the execution of in-person interviews for media or video creation, alongside the Senior Marketing Manager.
Public Relations : Assist in drafting press releases, coordinating press events, and supporting media outreach efforts to promote RMHC West Michigan's initiatives, events, and impact.

QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrated experience with social media, including managing personal profiles or business pages.

Proficiency in Canva, with an eye for design and a strong understanding of visual storytelling.

Familiarity with video content creation and optimization for social media platforms.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time-management skills.

Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Administration or a related field is preferred.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

Contribute to RMHCWM team efforts by maintaining positive, supportive and flexible working relationships with fellow staff and volunteers in the mutual pursuit of providing comfort and care to families of seriously ill or injured children being served by the Ronald McDonald House Charities West Michigan.

Maintains a professional manner in order to work with families, visitors, volunteers, and staff.

Ability to maintain confidential matters.

Organizational skills and attention to detail.

Able to express oneself in an articulate and effective manner both verbally and in written communication.

Highly adaptable and organized with the ability to prioritize effectively, shift focus when needed, and communicate clearly in a fast-paced environment
