The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities of St. Louis is to provide comfort, care and a home-away-from-home for families of seriously ill children. Our objective is to enable families to practice family-centered care by providing them with all of the basic comforts of home.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of St. Louis has a full-time Vice President of Operations position open. This position is part of a mission-focused team of professionals providing compassion and hospitality to families with seriously ill children.
This position is responsible for the success and growth of the programs offered to our families, and for leading and managing the operations of our Houses and Family Rooms. Operations includes cleanliness and upkeep of our facilities, safety and security of House and Family Room guests and staff and guest satisfaction.
This position builds and maintains hospital partnerships and relationships, such that RMHC is aware of changing trends in pediatric health care; that its programs and facilities change and improve as needed to remain relevant; and that the utilization/occupancy of RMHC House and Family Rooms is maximized.
This position is part of the senior management team that drives the overall strategy for the organization, program leadership and management, and knowledge management.
As part of the RMHC management, the position collaborates with the leadership team to achieve position and organizational goals in support of the RMHC mission and Core Values.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position directly supervises staff positions: Director of Facilities, Family Service Manager – Park Avenue, Family Service Manager – West Pine, Family Service Manager – West County and Manager of Family Room Program.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least five years of proven not-for-profit leadership or an equivalent leadership role in business
- Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills
- High degree of integrity and trust
- Knowledge of and experience with program implementation, policies, and procedures
- Strong organizational skills

Essential Functions:

Directs and oversees operations and facilities of:
- Ronald McDonald Houses
- Ronald McDonald Family Rooms

Program Management:
- Leads Operation Department initiatives
- Develops and maintains RMHC Operations policy, standards, and procedures
- Oversees and directs Guest Services
- Directs the design and construction of new RMHC facilities and renovations and upgrades of existing facilities

Physical Demands
Must be able to concentrate and remain focused while handling multiple tasks, responsibilities, and projects. Must be able to perform bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, and lifting of moderate to heavy weight material up to 25 lbs. Must be able to frequently climb stairs, including up to 5 flights, and frequently walk distances up to approximately 80 yards. Must be able to travel between RMH locations as needed.
