Position Available
As a member of the Development team, the Development Assistant will report directly to the Associate Director of Development and will be responsible for the following: database management, donor relations, events, and general administrative functions.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
· Database Management: Using Salesforce maintains and oversees data entry and ensures data integrity, processes all donations and memberships, reconciles donations and membership renewals with the development, finance, and direct marketing teams.
· Donor and Member Relations: Answers department telephone promptly and courteously responding to donor inquiries, phone calls and emails, ensures donors receive acknowledgment letters on a timely basis, schedules museum tours, and works with vendors to fulfill donor recognition naming opportunities on plaques, statues, rotunda wall carvings at the Reagan Library & Museum and the Reagan Institute in Washington D.C.
· Event Management: Registers donors for events, tracks registrations, oversees seating assignments, carries out event follow up tasks and event duties as assigned.
· Research: Carries out prospect research for individuals, corporations, and foundations for major gifts, exhibit sponsorship, education initiatives and other projects as requested. Oversees design of donor proposals, maintains proposal profiles and prospect lists.
· Administrative Performs the following clerical functions: word processing, developing, and manipulating spreadsheets, mail-merge, creating reports, copying, editing, filing, filling out monthly expense reports and other related functions.
· Performs other related duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all staff.
- Minimum two years successful experience working in an office environment, preferably in a nonprofit organization.
- Proficiency in donor and prospect database management, especially Salesforce or similar system, MS Word, Windows, and Excel
- Experience in data entry, batch entry and verification of data entry preferred.
- Proficiency in clerical functions, including mail-merge functions, voice mail, email, internet, filing, and mailing.
- Detail oriented, with ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Experience and ability to work independently and collegially in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
- Ability to work overtime, evenings, and weekend events occasionally.
- Ability to perform data entry functions quickly and accurately, and for long periods of time.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

- Builds and maintain positive working relationships and communications with all Foundation constituents, including fellow staff members and departments within the Foundation.
Salary/Benefits/Work Location
This is a non-exempt part-time position, with some evenings and weekends required. This position offers an hourly wage commensurate with experience, in the range of $16.50-$18.00 per hour. The position will be located at The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute, Simi Valley, California.
