Pay Rate: up to $45/hr
Location: South San Francisco, CA
Length: 1-year’ contract possible extension
100% on-site; Monday-Friday 8 AM - 5 PM or from 9 AM - 6 PM
Top 3 Must Have Skill Sets:
• Cell Culture skills (Critical)
• Cell-based functional assay development
• immunohistochemistry staining, high-content imaging analysis
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated scientist with a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field, with relevant postdoctoral experience preferred. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot complex technical challenges and work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal abilities, are essential.
This laboratory-based Scientist position focuses on developing and executing cell-based high-content imaging assays to support Amgen’s small molecule and siRNA drug discovery pipeline.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cell biology, immunology, and molecular biology, with expertise in cell culture techniques, cell treatment, and transfection. Proficiency in immunohistochemistry staining, high-content imaging analysis, and lab automation is highly desirable. Experience with data analysis and visualization platforms such as Genedata Screener, Tibco Spotfire, and GraphPad Prism is a plus.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
• Grow and maintain cell lines.
• Design and conduct experiment with high content imaging analysis for measuring target functional activities in cells.
• Communicate experiment data with team.
