Job Description
We are located in Brunswick and are searching for a reliable Maintenance Technician who wants to grow in a Mechanical /Electrical Technician role with us.
Maintenance Technician Requirements:
-Must have electrical and mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
-Hydraulic and pneumatic experience is required
-Experience with troubleshooting or programming PLC’s is a benefit
-Experience with variable frequency drives, servo drives and motors is ideal
-Experience with maintenance on stamping presses, tool room equipment, welding cells and cranes a benefit.
-Have experience with installing and maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment
-Any experience with fixing or maintaining CNC equipment a plus as well
Perform scheduled facility and process maintenance and repairs. Respond to unscheduled maintenance issues as required. Organize and maintain inventories, and equipment files. Communicate job status as appropriate to operators, and management.
Duties/Responsibilities, Core knowledge:
• Troubleshoot, modify, and repair/rebuild all types of Stamping plant equipment.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting, repair and construction as required.
• Test new or repaired equipment to assure satisfactory performance.
• Modify/fabricate as required using welder, cutting torches and various machines.
• Keep equipment, maintenance shop, and job sites in a clean and orderly condition.
• Work in accordance with OSHA and safety policies and procedures.
• Work from ladders, lifts, elevated places, as required.
• Document work completed; report job outcome/supplies used written and/or verbal
• Lift up to 50lb as required. Heavier parts/materials will be handled using other approved methods.
• Work with solvents, degreasers, lubricants, and other common industrial chemicals.
• Work with minimal supervision at a pace and approach that gets the job done.
• Direct work of helpers as required (contractors, production volunteers, etc).
• Regular hours/shifts may vary as production and maintenance coverage needs dictate. Up to 55 hours weekly are possible, which includes a 5hr Saturday morning (6am-11am)
• Perform other job duties as assigned.
Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED
• 2 years related experience and/or training
• General mechanical knowledge. Basic Plumbing knowledge.
• Strong industrial electrical knowledge. (certified electrical a huge plus)
• Working knowledge of HVAC, air compressors, and chillers.
• Fabrication/repair using welding and cutting torch.
• Use of milling, lathe, and other shop machines a benefit.
• Ability to operate mobile equipment (fork lifts, man lifts)
• Ability to read prints, schematics, manuals, etc.
• Use of common measurement tools and gauges.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a Tool & Die/Stamping manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Pinch presses and Standard tool room equipment, high voltage electrical systems, hydraulics, and schematics.
- Proficient in English for effective communication within the team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.
- Ability to work independently hands on as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn new skills and technologies related to maintenance practices.
- Basic computer skills
