Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Construction Project Engineer located in Concord, CA. The Construction Project Engineer will be responsible for coordinating project activities, overseeing construction engineering tasks, ensuring quality control, and managing submittals. Additionally, the role requires effective communication with team members and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review engineering drawings, plans, computations, estimates and reports.
- Prepare project documents (RFIs, change orders, submittals and schedules).
- Facilitate timely preparation and delivery of all required submittal documentation.
- Prepare, monitor and update 3-Week Look-Ahead schedules.
- Oversee Subcontractors’ performance and adherence to weekly schedules and master schedules.
- Survey job sites regularly to ensure quality control and conformance with contract specifications.
- Ensure Material Take offs are completed and proper scheduling to deliver and quality product
- Help create a seamless process A-Z within the organization
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of general construction experience.
- A bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, or Architecture from an accredited school.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints and/or technical manuals.
- Strong communication skills (written and oral).
- Self-directed and results-oriented; able to handle multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Candidates should be extra-skilled with MS Office, specifically Excel, Word & Outlook, and recognize that detail-oriented tasks are critical.
- Additional experience with Primavera, Microsoft Project, Auto CAD, Revit, Sketch-Up, Bluebeam, Procore, and Plan Swift is preferred.
- Residential, Multi-Family, Commercial project experiences with wood frame, structural steel and concrete are a plus.
