Job Overview:
Roofing Solutions is seeking a Roofing Sales Support/Estimator that will be responsible for assisting the sales team in generating new business by preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for roofing projects. This role involves supporting the sales team by creating proposals, analyzing project requirements, and ensuring the smooth flow of information between customers, sales, and production teams. The position requires a strong understanding of roofing materials, installation processes, and costs to provide competitive and reliable quotes to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimate Preparation:
Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for roofing projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and other associated costs. Ensure estimates are tailored to customer specifications and project scopes (residential, commercial, or industrial roofing).
- Roof Inspection Coordination:
Assist with scheduling and coordinating roof inspections and site visits to gather accurate information for estimating purposes.
- Sales Support:
Work closely with the sales team to develop proposals, contracts, and presentations based on customer needs. Assist with the preparation and follow-up of quotes, ensuring that all necessary information is included.
- Customer Interaction:
Communicate directly with customers to gather detailed project requirements, answer questions, and provide clarity on estimates. Address any concerns or discrepancies related to pricing or scope.
- Product and Service Knowledge:
Maintain a thorough understanding of roofing systems, materials, and service offerings (e.g., asphalt shingles, metal roofing, flat roofs, etc.) to provide clients with accurate information and competitive pricing.
- Supplier Coordination:
Liaise with suppliers to confirm material costs and availability to ensure that estimates reflect current market pricing.
- CRM Management:
Update and maintain customer information, proposals, and pricing details in the company’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Bid Management:
Assist with preparing and submitting bids for roofing projects, ensuring compliance with client specifications and submission deadlines.
- Cross-Department Collaboration:
Coordinate with the production, procurement, and project management teams to ensure that estimates align with operational capabilities and timelines.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
2-4 years of experience in roofing estimation, sales support, or a related role in the construction industry. Roofing industry knowledge is essential.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., AccuLynx, RoofSnap, Roofr, Xactimate or similar platforms).
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of roofing systems, materials, and installation practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., JobNimbus) is a plus.
