Thursday 6:00pm - midnight
Friday midnight - 7pm
Monday 10:00am - 1:00pm
Must be available for Staff meeting on Monday. Must have a valid NC Driver's License
We are seeking a part-time Residential Assistant to work in a licensed group home for single mothers with children. We are a Christian ministry working with some of the most vulnerable of our community.
We will only consider applicants who:
1) Can pass an extensive background check;
2) Have a valid driver's license;
3) Can pass pre-hire and ongoing drug screens;
4) Meet all state licensing requirements to work in a residential facility;
5) Have the ability to work with diverse populations, independently and responsibly;
6) Have a GED or High School Diploma;
7) Prefer work or life experience working with young women and children;
8) Childcare Credential required;
9) Must be able to cook simple meals and do housekeeping duties;
10) Must be at least 21 years old due to licensing requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
· Assists in the fulfillment of the mission of Room At The Inn and exercises good stewardship in all task and activities
· Oversees the operation of the residential program in the absence of the Residential Supervisor
· Provides vacation and sick time relief for the Residential Supervisor and is on-call for emergencies as assigned
· Maintains a clean, safe environment for the clients
· Provides transportation as necessary for the clients to medical, social service appointments and to school
· Provides phone referrals
· Buys household items and groceries as necessary and determines the need for maintenance, repairs and furnishings for the facility and the agency vehicles
· Food Prep and/or cook meals and meal clean-up as necessary
· Maintains daily activity and medicine logs
· Fully participates in all Performance and Quality Improvement activities
· Performs other duties as assigned by the Residential Supervisor
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent AND demonstrates the characteristics and ability to work in a group home setting, including following established policies and procedures.
Must be sensitive to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the service population. Must meet state maternity home licensure requirements. Must be able to help with meal preparation, work within a budget and have parenting knowledge. A valid driver's license is preferred. If licensed, must be able to drive a car or van.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to read and write. Must be able to hear normal conversations. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to conduct visual inspections. Must be able to speak clearly. Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time. Must be able to climb stairs. Must be able to drive a car or van.
Other Requirements:
Must be willing to work overtime, on weekends and at nights as necessary.
