Roosevelt University (RU) is seeking an academic fieldwork coordinator (AFWC) and faculty member eligible for appointment as assistant clinical practice professor, with expertise in occupational therapy (OT). The academic fieldwork coordinator (AFWC) is responsible for providing OT students with quality Level I and Level II fieldwork opportunities and to serve under the direction of the program director as an integral part of the occupational therapy program leadership team. The AFWC develops, coordinates, and monitors programming related to student fieldwork experiences, the broader MSOT curriculum, and operational aspects of the program that help ensure optimal day-to-day operations and programmatic outcomes. The AFWC is responsible for ensuring the program's compliance with ACOTE fieldwork education requirements and collaborating with fieldwork educators to ensure that fieldwork experiences meet the Program's objectives. These administrative duties are accompanied by a reduced teaching and service load. The AFWC demonstrates excellence in performing administrative duties, as well as, teaching, scholarship, and service. This is a full-time, twelve-month, exempt, faculty position with occasional evenings and weekends. The program is based at the Schaumburg campus. Per USCIS regulations, this position requires US citizenship or permanent residency.These are the job duties required for the position : Duty and Responsibility : Fieldwork CoordinatorPercentage Of Time : 60%
- Develop relationships with clinical sites to provide fieldwork experience for students, in alignment with RU MSOT mission and requirements, as well as ACOTE requirements regarding number of sites, qualifications of clinical instructors, and quality of fieldwork experiences.
- Implement and maintain all aspects of fieldwork experiential learning for OT students, including establish and maintain relationships with sites, oversee affiliation agreements between each site and the University, assign students to their clinical sites, and ensure students meet any site requirements and provide student vaccination or other records in compliance with specific site requirements.
- Develop and review / revise at least annually fieldwork policies and procedures that ensure compliance with the ACOTE standards.
- Work closely with clinical instructors, conduct regular outreach and on-site visits, communicate all expectations for fieldwork experiences, provide training and support to ensure quality experiences.
- Assist with the development and implementation of policies for the withdrawal of students from fieldwork education placement when necessary.
- Orient students to the general protocol for fieldwork experiences and provide them with the appropriate resources associated with fieldwork selection.
- Reassign students who do not complete an original fieldwork assignment in accordance with OT department and College policies.
- Assess the quality and appropriateness of fieldwork experiences (facilities, fieldwork educators, intervention types, etc.) by considering student feedback, site visits and other information in order to make recommendations for continued quality improvement and partnerships.
- Monitor student fieldwork attendance hours, to ensure each student meets or exceed the Program's requirements prior to graduation.
- Assist fieldwork educators in supporting students who have approved accommodations in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

- Teach a reduced course load ( 40%) as assigned by the MSOT Director
- Contribute to program via active service on committees, as well as contributions at the university level as appropriate.
