The Humanities Department seeks to hire adjunct faculty to teach Communication (COMM) 101 – Public Speaking. This 3-credit-hour course focuses on strategies for public speaking, public presentations, and conducting meetings. Effective approaches to audience analysis, establishing speaker / presenter credibility, assembling / organizing information, and all verbal, visual, and other non-verbal aspects of delivery are addressed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required :
- Successful applicants must have the experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities required to effectively deliver instruction in the areas listed in the position summary, as well as competence in creating appropriate visuals to accompany professional-level oral presentations and other communication events.
- For course management, knowledge of and prior experience with the Blackboard Learning Management system is required.
