Position Overview:
The Store Manager is motivated and oversees the daily operations of our dispensary. This role will lead and inspire the store team, manage sales goals, ensure compliance with state regulations, and deliver exceptional customer service. As the Store Manager, this role is pivotal in ensuring the success of the store by maintaining smooth operations, efficient inventory management, and a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Team Management:
• Manage and lead the retail team, including scheduling, performance reviews, training, and team development.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and customer-focused work culture.
• Ensure all staff members are compliant with state regulations and Rootdown policies.

Sales & Customer Service:

• Customer Experience Focus: Ensure every customer receives exceptional service by engaging in personalized consultations, addressing inquiries, and recommending products based on their needs.
• Sales Targets: Drive sales by setting clear goals for the team, monitoring daily performance, and implementing strategies to achieve or exceed store targets.
• Product Knowledge: Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all products offered in the store, including medical cannabis strains, forms, and usage, to effectively educate customers and support their purchasing decisions.
• Issue Resolution: Handle customer complaints or issues professionally and efficiently, aiming for quick and satisfactory resolutions that reinforce positive relationships and customer loyalty.
• Store Presentation: Ensure the store maintains a clean, organized, and welcoming environment that reflects the high standards of Rootdown.

Compliance & Regulatory Management:

• Ensure store operations are in full compliance with local and state medical cannabis regulations.
• Maintain accurate records for inventory, sales, and employee compliance.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory inspections and audits.

Inventory Management:

• Stock Levels: Ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained by regularly reviewing stock reports, coordinating with the Inventory Control Specialist, and placing timely orders to avoid shortages or overstock.
• Product Availability: Monitor product availability closely, ensuring that top-selling and essential products are consistently available to meet customer demand.
• Compliance: Ensure that all inventory is tracked and recorded accurately, complying with state regulations and internal policies for cannabis inventory management.
• Audits: Conduct regular inventory audits to confirm accuracy, identify discrepancies, and work with the team to resolve any issues immediately.
• Waste Management: Oversee the proper disposal and recording of expired or damaged products, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for cannabis waste.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven Leadership: Strong leadership experience in managing teams, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and staff development in a retail or dispensary environment.
• Cannabis Regulation Knowledge: Thorough understanding of medical cannabis regulations, including familiarity with METRC or other industry compliance tracking systems.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively to staff, customers, and vendors.
• Customer Service Focus: A demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service and resolve issues in a professional, timely manner, ensuring a positive experience for all customers.
• Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to quickly address issues related to store operations, customer needs, and regulatory compliance.
• Retail Management Experience: Proficiency in retail management, including handling cash, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
• Organizational Skills: High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Team Collaboration: Ability to foster a positive and collaborative team culture, encouraging cooperation and mutual respect among team members.
• Technology Proficiency: Proficient in using retail management software, point-of-sale systems, and standard office tools such as Microsoft Office.
• Adaptability: Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the operational needs of the store.
• Vendor & Supplier Relations:
• Work closely with vendors and suppliers to ensure a steady flow of high-quality products.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate pricing and product selection.
• Store Presentation & Marketing:
• Ensure that the store is visually appealing and organized, providing an excellent customer experience.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to execute in-store promotions and events.
• Monitor local market trends to remain competitive and meet customer demands.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven leadership and management experience in a retail or dispensary environment.
• Strong understanding of medical cannabis regulations, including experience with METRC or other compliance systems.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Proficiency with retail management software and point-of-sale systems.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
• Ability to create and maintain a positive team environment focused on customer service.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• 3 years of experience in retail management, with a preference for experience in cannabis or regulated industries.
• Must be able to obtain a Medical Cannabis Work Permit through the Mississippi Department of Health.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand for extended periods during shifts.
• Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with regular customer interaction.
