Description:
Rooted School Indy @ Eastern Star is accepting applications for High School Basketball Coach.. The High School Basketball Coach will report to the Athletic Director, Assistant School Leader, and the Executive Director.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES:
- Thorough knowledge of the sport and its strategies and techniques
- Ability to motivate, teach and recruit qualified student-athletes
- Ability to effectively implement school policy & maintain athletic department standards
- Ability to pass a background check
- High School Diploma or GED
- Some youth coaching experience preferred.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Lead or assist in organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices, training, and competitions three to five (3-5) afternoons / evenings per week
- Assist in recruiting potential student-athletes
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and general assistance according to the needs of the student-athlete
- Assist in promoting and maintaining student-athlete academic success – including supervision of team study sessions
- Assist in the planning and implementation of team fundraising strategies
- Assist with some team transportation responsibilities, as needed
- Additional standard coaching and team leadership responsibilities, as needed
- NOTE: All Middle School Head Coaches will provide some Assistant Coach support to High School counterparts.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Ability to drive.
- Frequently lift and carry as much as 50( ) pounds.
- Regularly perform physical activities common to the sport.
- Ability to see, communicate (loudly), utilize equipment common to the sport
