Certification Details BLS for Healthcare Provider Card Certified surgical assistant Certified surgical technologist Job Details Job Summary : Cardiovascular OR Serve as first assistant to Vascular Surgeon(s) during surgery. Ensure the availability and functioning of surgical equipment used in surgical procedures. Transport patient to and from operating room, preps patient prior to surgery, serves as first or second assistant to the surgeon during the surgical procedure. Job Requirements Clinical experience as a surgical assistant preferred Certified surgical assistant Certified surgical technologist Clinical licensures as appropriate with the above Education Current certification by the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist as a first assistant or the National Surgical Assistant Association on the Certification of Surgical Assistants or any entity approved by the National Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) Surgical Technologist must also hold a Surgical Technologist certification Schedule Information May be required to take call and / or work weekends / holidays based on the needs of the department.
