Primary Function/General Purpose of Position:
The Communications Specialist – Events & Engagement plays a crucial role in planning, communicating, and hosting events that enhance camaraderie, culture, and wellness within Roper St. Francis Healthcare. This role ensures that internal and brand-marketing events strengthen our culture and maintain our standing as a best place to work, amidst significant organizational changes and challenges.
Essential Job Functions:
- Partners with the CEO’s office, HR, and all departments to plan and execute internal events and meeting content that promotes team spirit and organizational culture.
- Supports the planning and execution of brand and marketing events and activations.
- Addresses and manages the increased demand on the Corporate Communications and Content Strategy Department due to organizational changes.
- Ensures that events and recognition activities for teammates, leaders, managers, physicians and nurses are effectively executed.
- Collaborates across departments to ensure that events and engagements are aligned with RSFH’s strategic goals and culture.
- Creates content including photos and internal stories for internal and external stakeholders.
Licensing/Certification:
- N/A
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Event Planning, or related field. (required)
Work Experience:
- Experience in planning and executing large-scale events and engagements (required)
- Professional background in communications or public relations, preferably in a healthcare or similar setting (preferred)
- At least three years of employee engagement communications and/or events (required)
Training:
- Event planning and management training (preferred)

- General office environment
- May require frequent travel to various event locations within the healthcare system
- Work under stressful conditions and tight deadlines to manage multiple events simultaneously

- May require lifting or moving items related to event setups, up to 25lbs
