We are so excited to announce that we are hiring for an exciting BRAND NEW restaurant in Allentown, PA. Our Outdoor patio is slated to open any day, and we would like to add a couple new members to the team!
Rosa Blanca, a new Cuban Rum bar and all day cafe by Celebrity Chef Jose Garces.
José Garces, James Beard Award-winner, Iron Chef, entrepreneur, food innovator, and restauranteur, will open his concept Rosa Blanca in downtown Allentown this March. The Cuban café and rum bar will be on the ground floor of The Nines apartment building at 950 Hamilton St. Rosa Blanca will flow from a breezy café offering classic Cuban coffee and pastries by day to a tropical rum bar serving mixed drinks by night. Rosa Blanca’s interior will feature Art Deco style, lush greenery, and an emphasis on glamour to produce Cuba’s Golden Age aesthetic in the heart of Allentown’s Downtown West neighborhood.
We are looking for front of house staff members including bartenders and servers who are energetic, responsible and have a passion for the restaurant industry. The ideal candidate has prior experience preparing a variety of food items, is well-versed in customer service skills and is able to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced restaurant.
The bar program will be made entirely in house with all fresh ingredients. The drinks will be progressive, but approachable. Send a resume to get in on the ground floor of this exciting opportunity!
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests, taking orders, and delivering drinks promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including washing glassware and cleaning surfaces.
- Monitor inventory levels of liquor, mixers, garnishes, and supplies; assist in ordering as needed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling practices.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
- Assist with catering events or banquets as required, providing support in beverage service.
Experience
- Previous experience in the food industry or hospitality sector is preferred, particularly in fine dining or catering environments.
- Familiarity with Aloha POS or similar point-of-sale systems is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of drink recipes, cocktail preparation techniques, and beverage presentation.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during peak hours.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being proactive in guest interactions.
