Position Summary:
Direct Support Professionals play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling and independent lives. In this role, you will provide person-centered care and assistance to individuals in a variety of settings, including homes, community settings, and day programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide Direct Care:
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as personal care, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding.
- Administer medications as prescribed and documented.
- Implement behavior support plans and positive behavioral interventions.
Community Integration:
- Accompany individuals on outings and community activities, such as shopping, recreational events, and appointments.
- Assist with transportation and ensure safe travel.
- Promote social interaction and community participation.
Health and Safety
- Monitor individuals' health and well-being, reporting any concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Implement emergency procedures as needed.
- Ensure the safety and security of individuals at all times.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all services provided, including daily logs, incident reports, and progress notes.
- Utilize electronic health records systems as required.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and other members of the care team.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and staff trainings.
- Build positive and respectful relationships with individuals and their families.
Other Duties Assigned:
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, which may include but are not limited to: household chores, light housekeeping, and administrative tasks.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
