Position Summary
The Center for Cancer Cell Biology, Immunology, and Infection, Discipline of Microbiology and Immunology in the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science invites applications for a full-me Research Technician. The Research Technician will assist staff in a research laboratory and assist at the flow cytometry core.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Help maintain the laboratory mouse colony. This will include extensive record keeping, breeder setup, ear tagging, tail snipping, euthanizing, and genotyping.
Perform various laboratory tasks including buffer preparation, autoclaving, restocking, and laboratory cleanup. Perform a variety of techniques and assays including DNA/RNA prep, genotyping, PCR, ELISA, tissue culture experiments, and cell line maintenance. Aid in animal experiments including immunizations, tissue harvesting, and tissue processing

Required Education & Experience
- BS in Biological Sciences or equivalent education.
- Proficiency in common computer programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Work requires knowledge of biology and a few experimental procedures.
- Good communication skills desired (both verbal and written).
- The willingness to train in the handling of laboratory animals.
- Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the handling of experimental mice.
- Experience in flow cytometry is strongly preferred.
