ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare a variety of baked goods, desserts, and pastries from scratch, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Create new dessert recipes and refine existing ones to maintain a fresh and exciting menu.
- Ensure that all pastries and desserts are beautifully presented in line with restaurant standards.
- Organize and manage the pastry station, ensuring ingredients, tools, and equipment are ready and maintained.
- Monitor inventory levels, order ingredients, and manage supplies to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Work closely with the culinary team to ensure timely and coordinated preparation of desserts and pastries.
- Conduct regular checks to ensure the quality, freshness, and consistency of all pastries and desserts.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Proven experience as a pastry chef or in a similar role in a high-volume kitchen.
- Expertise in pastry techniques, baking, and dessert preparation.
- Strong focus on quality, consistency, and presentation in all baked goods and desserts.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with other kitchen staff.
- Understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation practices.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs as required in a busy kitchen environment.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
