Kiln Operator

Rosboro is currently seeking a motivated, detail-oriented and safety-conscious Kiln Operator to join our team. The Kiln Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring kiln systems to ensure the proper drying of lumber, driving forklifts to haul and stack lumber up to 20 feet in length, and maintaining accurate inventory records. This role requires a commitment to safety, precision, and the ability to work independently. Must be willing to work any shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to transport, stack, and organize lumber up to 20 feet in length.
• Load kiln carts with lumber and ensure proper alignment and stacking.
• Scan inventory tags to maintain accurate inventory records and documentation.
• Operate basic kiln programs to achieve optimal drying conditions for lumber.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report any maintenance needs.
• Follow all company safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.

Qualifications and Skills

• Extensive forklift experience.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety guidelines.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
• Basic computer skills for inventory scanning and kiln program operation.
• Physical ability to lift, move, and stack heavy lumber as required.
• Experience in kiln operation or a similar role preferred but not required. Willing to train the right candidate.

Compensation and Benefits

• $25.22 / hour plus shift differential.
