Job Summary

Duties
- Plan, organize, and implement recreational and therapeutic activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
- Assist residents in participating in activities, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other team members to assess residents' needs and preferences for activity planning.
- Document participation and progress of residents in activities, providing feedback to the care team.
- Encourage social interaction among residents to foster a sense of community and belonging.
- Support residents with memory care needs by facilitating appropriate cognitive activities.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, particularly those facing aging issues or dementia care challenges.
- Maintain a clean and organized activity space, ensuring all materials are safe and accessible.
Requirements
- Previous experience in long-term care or senior care settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of aging issues counseling, caregiving practices, or social work is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with memory care techniques and working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
