What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Care Worker - In Home position at Roscommon County Commission on Aging?
In-Home Service Providers care for clients by assisting with personal care, bathing, changing bed linens, laundry, light house cleaning and shopping.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintain client confidentiality at all times, following HIPAA Guidelines
- Print schedule daily, as set by In-Home Service Coordinator, for client’s name and care requirements
- Provide service in accordance with care plan
- Maintain communication with client and In-Home Service Support Staff for
- current client schedule and any changes to that schedule
- Keep In-Home Service Support Staff informed in writing of current or potential client situations
- Provide services to clients in accordance with instructions from In-Home Service Support Staff
- Maintain appropriate documentation regarding hours of service per client, units utilized, and service rendered and submit to In-Home Service Support Staff as necessary
- Track mileage promptly and accurately
- Attend all trainings and meetings, as required
- Additional duties as assigned by In-Home Service Support Coordinator
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Shall demonstrate a genuine interest and concern when working with older adults and maintain a confidential and tactful nature
- Have reliable transportation, including a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance
- Experience in Direct Care to older adults preferred
- Must be able to pass random drug testing
- Must abide by the Operations Standards Service Program requirements, which includes annual background checks
