Production Supervisor (3^rd Shift)

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Supervise and coordinate 3rd shift manufacturing operations. Manage Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Cost of production for the shift.  Responsible for safely achieving all manufacturing objectives to efficiently produce high-quality Egglife foods.  Responsible for training, developing, counseling, and coaching team members.   

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (non-exclusive list)

• Supervise all shift activities.
• Training, development and counseling of production employees.
• Responsible for Safety, Food Safety, Quality, Cost and Yield for the shift.
• Maintain and verify inventories for daily/weekly production needs.
• Serve as a coach and guide for the Shift Leads.
• Assisting in the process of interviewing, hiring and on-boarding new employees in conjunction with the Human Resources Department.
• Ensure employees are in continuous compliance and adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety, Employee Handbook, Safety, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies. 
• Responsible for training, evaluating, and coaching all shift employees as well as ensuring employee familiarization and compliance with all company policies and regulations. employee relations, employee discipline actions, employee grievances
• Serve as the first point of contact for all employee relations issues, disciplinary actions, and incident investigations pertaining to your shift.
• Perform scheduling and timesheet maintenance for all hourly employees in a timely manner.
• Ensure Shift compliance with all Federal, State, Local, and company policies and procedures.
• Maintaining food safety, product quality, adherence to in-process operating guides, adherence to product specifications and product formulation and maintaining product quality attributes from processing to finished goods.
• Ensure all employees are trained on Safety programs and they adhere to all programs. Also ensure all training, monthly safety meetings, OSHA compliance and reporting are in place.
• Completion and transmittal of all appropriate paperwork associated with daily, weekly, monthly and year to date operations.  
• Inform (within a reasonable time frame) the Production Manager and/or Plant Manager and/or HR Manager of any urgent or emergency situations which require immediate attention or approval. 
• Perform any other duties deemed necessary or vital to Egglife operations or interests.
• Ensure housekeeping duties are routinely completed.
• Familiarization with, and conformity to, all Egglife Biosecurity Program policies.
• Responsible for proper completion of all shift documentation and accuracy of reports.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred. 
• Previous supervisory experience required.
• Food manufacturing experience preferred.
• Must be able to lead self, people, and teams.
• Capable of performing routine math calculations, including percentages and fractions.
• Good communication skills (written and verbal).
• Must be computer literate (working knowledge of Word, Excel, email, Google products, Kronos/WFR/UKG).
• Be available to work flexible hours - including nights and weekends.
• Possess good decision-making skills and ability to quickly address critical and urgent situations.
