NC Shipper Cooler

Shipping/Receiving: Assists in moving dry products and egg products to their destination, maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, follows prescribed safety regulations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (non-exclusive list)

• Responsible for loading/unloading trucks as necessary
• Responsible for assisting the manager in ensuring that quality control procedures are followed in the cooler area
• Responsible for assisting the manager with necessary inventory paperwork on the computer
• Perform shipping and receiving duties
• Must report defective materials or questionable conditions to the cooler manager
• Must be able to operate a forklift and pallet jack
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• This position requires that the person can read, speak, understand, and write basic English and use basic communication and math skills
• Capable of performing multiple tasks at once – maintaining inventory, unloading and loading trucks, filling out invoices etc.
• Capable of working in an environment that may be physically demanding (extreme temperature differences, moderate walking throughout the day etc.)
• Ability to work long hours if needed to get the job completed (staying late to load trucks etc.)
• Capable of working as a “team” and fulfilling his or her role on the cooler team to ensure that eggs are moved as efficiently as possible.
• Capable of working a flexible schedule – including some weekend work, overtime work, and occasional holidays at management’s discretion.
• Capable of ensuring that USDA and Rose Acre quality control standards are followed within the cooler.
• Capable of ensuring that all safety standards are followed in the facility, and that all accidents are properly documented.
• Capable of treating all coworkers, RAFT drivers, outside carriers, and customers with respect

POSITION TITLE: Cooler Shipper

REPORTS TO: Cooler Manager

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The person working as a shipper/receiver will work primarily assisting the cooler manager in moving products to their designation, as well as ensuring products have been packaged appropriately. As a shipper, they will maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.

• Must possess the ability to work in an agricultural environment, indoors, outdoors, office, warehouse, processing, and farm production areas each varying in temperature, and other environment specific atmospheres.

• Must possess the ability to work in an open office setting.
