We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activities Director to join our team in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities tailored to the needs and interests of individuals in our care, including those with dementia and other cognitive impairments. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program that caters to the diverse needs of residents, including those with memory care requirements.
- Coordinate and oversee daily activities, ensuring they are engaging, enjoyable, and appropriate for residents with varying abilities.
- Collaborate with caregiving staff to assess residents’ interests and capabilities to tailor activities effectively.
- Facilitate group activities that encourage socialization among residents while promoting teamwork and cooperation.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve the activities program.
- Schedule and manage all activity-related logistics, including transportation, supplies, and volunteer involvement.
- Provide support to residents with disabilities or special needs during activities, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Engage with families to communicate activity schedules and encourage their involvement in resident activities.
Experience
- Previous experience in senior care settings or nursing homes is preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices and experience working with individuals with cognitive impairments is highly desirable.
- Background in social work or caregiving can be beneficial for understanding resident needs.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules effectively.
