Description
General Statement of Duties: Function as a member of the Day Program. Assist residents in learning to manage their symptoms, develop independent living skills and progress in their individual treatment plan goals. Under direct supervision, perform a variety of routine food service duties.
Supervision Received: Reports to the Director of Operations and receives direction from the Kitchen Manager and Kitchen Work Team Leader.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide meal services to the residents and guests.
- Select and use appropriate chemicals to follow established sanitation procedures.
- Train residents in food preparation and proper sanitation of work areas.
- Supervise the residents as they perform their assigned daily responsibilities.
- Receive direction from the Kitchen Work Team leader to engage residents in Day Program Activities.
- Receive new stock and store in appropriate areas.
- Support all aspects of the Rose Hill program, enabling the residents to achieve treatment goals.
- Report major concerns in the evening to the Clinical Supervisor.
- Document activity in the resident charts.
- Communicate with the Treatment Team.
- Observe monitor and report changes in residents’ behavior and attend designated meetings.
- Provide transportation for residents when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Working conditions/Physical requirements:
- May be exposed to heat/cold temperatures in kitchen/storage areas
- Ability to lift, push, pull, move equipment, supplies in excess of fifty (50) pounds
- Subject to irregular working hours, intermittent weekends, holidays and flexible shifts
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age and high school graduate, or equivalent
- Experience working in a commercial kitchen preferred
- Ability to meet ServSafe Certification
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the residents
- Capable of handling emergency situations
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
- Ability to meet certification in CPR and First Aid
